This Privacy Policy explains how the DIY Lighting mobile application ("DIY Lighting", "the app", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the app.

DIY Lighting is operated by SB Lite Ltd and is designed to control compatible DIY Lighting products using Bluetooth.

Information We Collect

The current version of the DIY Lighting app does not collect, store, sell or share personal information about you.

The app does not require you to create an account and does not collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, contacts or payment information.

Bluetooth Access

DIY Lighting uses Bluetooth to discover, connect to and control compatible DIY Lighting devices located nearby.

Bluetooth access is used for functions including:

• Finding compatible DIY Lighting devices
• Connecting to lighting devices
• Changing colours and brightness
• Controlling lighting effects
• Managing groups of lights
• Reading device information such as battery level and status
• Performing supported firmware-related functions

Information exchanged between the app and compatible lighting devices is used to provide these functions and is not used to identify you personally.

Location

Some versions of Android may associate Bluetooth device scanning with location-related permissions.

DIY Lighting does not use Bluetooth scanning to determine, record or track your physical location.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app may store settings and preferences locally on your device so that features of the app work correctly and your preferences can be remembered.

Information stored locally by the app is not transmitted to SB Lite Ltd as part of normal app operation.

Firmware Updates and Internet Access

The app may connect to DIY Lighting or SB Lite Ltd servers to check for or download firmware and other files required for supported devices.

These connections are used to provide the requested functionality and are not used by the app to collect personal information about you.

Analytics and Advertising

The current version of DIY Lighting does not contain advertising and does not use advertising tracking.

We do not currently use the app to collect analytics about how individual users use the application.

Sharing of Information

Because DIY Lighting does not currently collect personal information through the app, we do not sell or share personal information collected through the app with third parties.

Children's Privacy

DIY Lighting is designed as a utility for controlling compatible lighting equipment and is not specifically directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Security

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the app and its associated services are operated securely. However, no electronic system or method of communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
